By train

The most environmental friendly option!

1. Travel to Stockholm
2. Take the overnight train to Murjek or Boden
3. Continue by connecting bus to Jokkmokk

Book the ticket at SJ or VY. We recommend that you book your journey all the way to Jokkmokk with SJ or VY. If the train is late and you miss your connecting bus they have to organize a compensation trip. Check timetables for buses at Länstrafiken Norrbotten.

Please note that the train tickets are normally released about 3 month before departure. If you try to book your ticket earlier it may look like it is sold out.

By plane

You can travel part of the way by plane and continue by bus and/or train.

1. Travel to Stockholm
2. Fly from Stockholm to Luleå, Gällivare, Arvidsjaur or Kiruna
3. Continue by bus and/or train to Jokkmokk

Plane tickets to Luleå or Kiruna can be booked with SAS or Norwegian, and to Gällivare and Arvidsjaur with Flynordica. Book your bus and or train tickets can with SJ or VY and visit Länstrafiken Norrbotten for timetables for the buses.

From Luleå Airport to Jokkmokk there is an airport shuttle run by Länstrafiken Norrbotten. Please note that the airport shuttle need to be booked latest 17.00 the day before.

By train

By plane

You can fly directly to Gällivare airport…

1. Travel to Stockholm
2. Fly from Stockholm to Gällivare airport
3. Continue by taxi from the airport to Gällivare (approx. 10 min)

…or to any nearby airports and continue by bus and/or train

1. Travel to Stockholm
2. Fly to Luleå or Kiruna airports
3. Continue by bus and/or train to Gällivare

Plane tickets to Luleå or Kiruna can be booked with SAS or Norwegian, and to Gällivare with Flynordica. Book your bus and or train tickets can with SJ or VY and visit Länstrafiken Norrbotten for timetables for the buses. Book taxi from the airport in Gällivare with Flygtaxi or transfer with Sverigetaxi.

Travel to Gällivare (please read above) and continue by bus.

2. Take the bus to Saltoluokta (Kebnats), Stora Sjöfallet, Vakkotavaare or Ritsem.

We recommend that you book your journey all the way to your final destination with SJ or VY. If the train is late and you miss your connecting bus they have to organize a compensation trip.

Please note that from Kebnats to Saltoluokta there is a 3-4 km long ski trail in the winter or a short boat ride (10 min) in summer. Boats are connected to the buses. 

Travel to Jokkmokk and continue by bus to Kvikkjokk.
